This week’s around the web
Hey! I'm so glad you're here! Pull up a chair, grab a cup of coffee or whatever you prefer and make yourself comfortable. I hope you enjoy your visit. If you're new here, you may want to subscribe to my RSS feed. Thanks for stopping by!
This was supposed to post yesterday but for some reason, it didn’t . . . so here it is! Better late than never, as they say, right?
On my travels around the web, I often come across blogs and websites with information I find valuable. When I do, I like to share. So, on my list this week are -
Save Mister Rogers’ Neighborhood - You may have heard that PBS is planning to drop most reruns of Mr. Rogers’ Neighborhood beginning in September. Currently, they plan to only air one episode weekly on Saturday. This website is aimed at voicing concern over PBS’ plan and asks visitors to email or write PBS, both the national office as well as local stations, and ask them to reconsider. I think it’s a great idea and I have already sent my thoughts to PBS. I hope you will consider doing so too.

Alright! That’s it for today. I’ll be back soon with more stuff I hope you enjoy. And I hope you’re enjoying your weekend so far, too!

Hi Annie - Thanks for sharing these great resources. I’d never come across the Millionaire Mommy before and I’m finding her blog fascinating. Only trouble is, I can’t leave a comment as she has one of those blogspot pop us comment boxes that only enable blogspot members to comment.

Hi Annie,
I love this “series” of yours. By you sharing what you’ve found, saves your readers tons of research time. Now I just have to make more time each day so I can read more. HeeHee.
BTW: I also like your new header. The microphone part is cool too, with the quote.

*ahem- Me….
LOL
I’ll have to check them out. New blogs to me that I’m currently checking out?
Why that would be you!
Dr. Casons last blog post..Medicine Mondays #3
@Cath - you’re welcome! Millionaire Mommy is an awesome blog. Yes, I have that trouble too over there so I rarely leave a comment. Bad, I know. And that’s one reason I no longer use blogger.
@Barbara - Thanks for the compliments! I’m glad you find it useful. That’s my whole goal.
And I’m glad you like the new header too. I almost think it’s missing something, though. It kinda seems bare. But the coffee is always on around here. Now, the only thing I need is a plugin or script that will allow me to rotate the quote up there.
@Dr. Cason - Nice to see you here! I’m enjoying your blog too. Thanks so much for stopping by. It’s always a pleasure to “see a new face.”
I hope you ladies enjoy your week!

Hi Annie.
Speaking of PBS, the PBS show that’s always on our TV (thanks to TiVo) is Curious George. Our 2 year old loves it. It’s actually not that bad hehe.
Thanks for the links. I’ll be checking those out. I also see you’re into a little real estate investing. Ha. So am I! I’ve written a few articles on it, but real estate trends are not the focus of my blog, just the entrepreneurial side of it is.
Thanks for stopping by my blog and saying hi.
Take care.

Hi John,
My kids *love* Curious George! Even The Teenager will watch it.
I think they’d watch it 24/7 if I’d let them. As we don’t have cable in our house, PBS is one of the few channels with kids programming.
You’re welcome for the links and for dropping by your blog. I try to post some new links every week.
And thanks for stopping by my blog! I do appreciate it. I’m still perusing your blog as we speak. Good stuff there!

Thanks Annie.
Yup. Same here with Curious George. My son really likes the new one, Signing Time now, too.
Thanks so much for the mention of my article!
Reading through your comments, I was surprised to read that blogspot makes it difficult for non-blogspot members to leave a comment. Doesn’t the pop-up box allow you to select other field options like “name” and “url”? I hate to think I’m missing out on conversations with others like you because of this! Hmmm.
Anyway, thanks again, and nice to “meet” you!
Millionaire Mommy Next Doors last blog post..Come on over, let’s talk!
Hi Millionaire Mommy,
I’m so glad you stopped by! I read your blog every time there’s a new post but yes, the commenting thing . . .
I’m not sure about Cath, but for me, it’s because I use a feed reader (Google Reader, actually) and it allows you to “preview” a blog so you can read the full feed if necessary and in doing so, for most blogs, you can post comments directly from within the reader when using preview. (From my understanding (and use of other feed readers), that’s fairly common.)
But not on blogger/blogspot. Which I find hilarious because it’s owned by Google.
And it’s because of the comment pop up box.
As a result, I often don’t comment on blogger hosted blogs unless I actually have time to go view the regular website outside Google Reader. That doesn’t happen very often, though. There just isn’t enough time in the day.
I hope that’s helpful to you. I’m not sure what can be done about it. It seems to me that Blogger used to have an option to handle comments that didn’t require a pop up box but I have no idea if that’s possible now or not.
Thanks again for stopping by! I hope you’ll visit again sometime.
