Barbara,

I don't really mind housework, either. And I know what you mean about some days you'd rather be blogging. ;-) I love writing and blogging and all that good stuff.

The problem for me is that I have a bad back. I hurt it on the job 11 years ago and have 3 compressed discs and 2 bulging discs. It means I have to be very careful with lifting (15-20 lbs or less), pushing, pulling, kneeling, bending, etc.

I have to alternate sitting and standing about every 20 minutes. Some types of cleaning like vacuuming and scrubbing the tub really do me in. Fortunately I have the worlds best husband and he does his best to do all the things I can't on top of working 40+ hours a week outside the home as well as about 90% of the yard work.

My teenager usually goes shopping with me and helps me push the cart. She's actually about 2 inches taller than me now (not that I'm very tall, LOL, just under 5') which comes in handy for reaching things and she helps me carry everything in from the car when we get home.

Anyway, before I hurt my back, my house was spic and span. Maybe even cleaner and neater than Martha Stewart's.

Lots of things changed in our lives when I got injured. Most of the time it's tolerable now as long as I remember to not over-do it. And that means now is the time to seek some outside help, mostly to take some pressure off that great guy who does anything I ask. ;-)

Thanks for stopping by again!

Hi Annie,

We use outsourcing for the business, but in the home, I do it all. Sometimes I think it would be great to have someone come in and clean, but that hasn't happened yet. I actually don't mind cleaning, but some days I would rather be blogging.

Barbara Swaffords last blog post..<a href="http://feeds.feedburner.com/~r/bloggingwithoutablog/DWWZ/~3/352336886/" rel="nofollow">FEFF - Feeling The Joy</a>
