Spring equinox

I am so ready for Spring!
Winter here in the Pacific Northwest has been cold, wet, dreary, snowy, icy, freezing. We’ve had more snow than I recall having since I was in high school. And not that we’re counting or anything, but I graduated almost 19 years ago.
(Geez, that makes me sound old!)
So, it’s St. Patrick’s Day today. I am wearing green, yes. And the kids painted their nails a nice bright green last night before they went to bed. Well, I should say – Little Girl and The Short Dude painted their nails. Gman refused. Even though gramma tried really, really hard to let her paint his too.
At least the Gman did wear a green shirt to school today. I think The Teenager forgot, though.
But anyway, the Spring Equinox is officially on March 20th this year. Just a few more days away. I’m so happy for that. I love Spring! It’s my favorite time of year. Everything is growing and renewing.
The days are getting longer, weather warmer. And the birds are chirping everywhere.
One of my favorite sounds of Spring are the wind chimes. There’s just something about Spring breezes that wiggle the chimes just so, sending out sweet tunes all around the house and yard. It’s beautiful. Sometimes I will just turn off the radio, opening the windows a bit to sit and listen.

Did you see the March Wallpapers I posted a few days ago? You should go look at them if you haven’t seen them yet. They’re bright and green! Two of them have calendars for the month also.
I hope you’re enjoying St. Patrick’s Day and that you have a wonderful week as we head into Spring!
In the arena,

Happy St. Patrick’s Day!

I love Spring!
Spring is my favorite time of year. Everything is beginning to grow, the sun starts shining a little more often and of course, days get longer. It means I can get outside more. Sometimes being stuck inside due to bad weather all winter is mighty draining. I welcome Spring with open arms!
Today it’s relatively nice here in the Pacific Northwest, albeit a little cold. At least the sun is out. Walking when the sun is out and the air is a bit chilly is refreshing. I walked twice day, as usual. Once this morning to take my kids to school and then again to pick them up this afternoon.
I still have not gotten back to the strength training, though. The last time we all got sick back in February, it really just took a lot out of me and then the time change a few weeks later didn’t help any. The time change always royally screws with my inner clock and although I can usually shake it off within a few days, I haven’t been so lucky this year. But as soon as I can get to back it without causing any adverse health effects for myself, I plan to do so. Hopefully it’s sooner than later.
Anyway, I’m still not seeing much effects from the veggie juice yet. Today I haven’t followed the suggestions all that well – I had a pita sandwich with spinach and chicken for lunch. I must say, though, that my nose doesn’t seem quite as stuffy as it has been for the last several weeks and I can smell better. Maybe it’s having some success? I’ll keep trying it and find out.
Hope you’re enjoying your day!

But, I thought this was Spring? The calendar says March 21st was the first day of Spring and we did have a couple of nice, warm, sunny days last week. It was very nice. I even turned off the heater.
So, why then, is it snowing today? I don’t like snow. It’s cold, wet, distracting and makes things messy. And how are those flowers that started blooming already supposed to stay pretty?
Mother Nature, please tell Old Man Winter he can rest for a while. Until something like November. I’d even settle for October. But please do leave the rest of March and April alone. I want to go outside and work in the garden – plant flowers, get the vegetable garden in and mow the lawn (because it’s starting to look like we live in the jungle).
Thanks,
Annie

Welcome back! Coffee's always on around here. Pull up your favorite chair and a grab a cup. Enjoy your visit today! And don't forget to stop back by again soon.
I’ve had several other blogs and websites in addition to this one over the years. Some of them are still somewhat active but there are a few I don’t use much anymore. They are just sitting there doing nothing. So, a couple of days ago, I made the decision to close many of them them down (like The Weight Loss Papers).
I spent some time this weekend going over those old blogs and importing most of their posts to THIS blog. So, if you browse around through some of the older posts here now, you’ll see a lot of content from those old blogs. There are posts that go all the way back to 2006 and as soon as I finish importing the remaining archives, they’ll go back to 2005 and maybe even 2003. There are now a little over 600 posts here on AABlog.
And many, many other topics that I have not covered here before.
Over the next few days, I’ll revamp things a bit to make it easier to access older content so I’m looking into some type of archive plugin. If you know of good one, please do share!
Also, I may be re-posting some of those older articles to make it a little easier on you. If by chance you happen upon something in the archives you’d like to me re-post this week or next, let me know.
I’m now off to finish up some paperwork for my doctor and will hopefully have my referral for the MRI’s very soon.
Until then . . .
Be blessed,
