Spring equinox

I am so ready for Spring!

Winter here in the Pacific Northwest has been cold, wet, dreary, snowy, icy, freezing. We’ve had more snow than I recall having since I was in high school. And not that we’re counting or anything, but I graduated almost 19 years ago. ;-)

(Geez, that makes me sound old!)

So, it’s St. Patrick’s Day today. I am wearing green, yes. And the kids painted their nails a nice bright green last night before they went to bed. Well, I should say – Little Girl and The Short Dude painted their nails. Gman refused. Even though gramma tried really, really hard to let her paint his too.

At least the Gman did wear a green shirt to school today. I think The Teenager forgot, though.

But anyway, the Spring Equinox is officially on March 20th this year. Just a few more days away. I’m so happy for that. I love Spring! It’s my favorite time of year. Everything is growing and renewing.

The days are getting longer, weather warmer. And the birds are chirping everywhere.

One of my favorite sounds of Spring are the wind chimes. There’s just something about Spring breezes that wiggle the chimes just so, sending out sweet tunes all around the house and yard. It’s beautiful. Sometimes I will just turn off the radio, opening the windows a bit to sit and listen.

Did you see the March Wallpapers I posted a few days ago? You should go look at them if you haven’t seen them yet. They’re bright and green! Two of them have calendars for the month also.

I hope you’re enjoying St. Patrick’s Day and that you have a wonderful week as we head into Spring!

In the arena,

Happy St. Patrick’s Day!

Justin’s plugin saved my blog

Justin’s plugin saved my blog

A couple days ago when I updated my theme, it knocked out some of my widgets and I could no longer use them. I couldn’t figure out how to get them back. Nothing I did worked. They were just lost.

Fortunately, it wasn’t forever. Because . . .

I began searching and came across a plugin by Justin Tadlock (who is an awesome WordPress theme developer, by the way!). His rockin’ plugin – Widget Reset – worked like a charm and I now have all my widgets back.

Thanks, Justin!

NJROTC drill and parade

NJROTC drill and parade

Over the weekend, I mentioned that The Teenager had an Annual Inspection and Parade with her NJROTC team a couple of weeks ago. My mom, Gman, Short Dude, Little Girl and I all went as did The Teenagers boyfriend. It sure brought back some memories for me!

There was lots of pomp and circumstance and the local Navy Band even played. The regional commander was present and performed the inspection and both the NJROTC armed and unarmed drill teams performed. And even though The Teenager is one of the taller people in our family, among her peers, she’s still one of the shortest. It was hard to see during parts of the ceremony.

I took quite a few pictures but didn’t really get any good shots of The Teenager because of where she was in the line but here’s a few for you . . .

Just another plugin test.

I think this is probably the last one. Hopefully.

Thanks for your patience!

A plugin test – disregard

This post is simply to test the function of a new plugin I recently installed. You can simply disregard it.

Have a beautiful day!

Bring back the old facebook

Bring back the old facebook

Or at least the missing parts:

1. Live feed
2. Friend’s comments on pics, etc
3. Updates on who friends become friends with and the like
4. Poke messages on the home page
5. The ability to “like” comments

While I like the new layout, I don’t like that the above items are missing. It’s annoying and lousy.

Just bring the list of things back and the new facebook will ROCK!

Seriously. Just quit messing with things, Mark.

Thanks.
