Why should you work with me?

I have been a designer for 22 years and a web designer for about 7, professionally, although I started designing websites way back in the mid 1990′s when the web was new and uncharted. I have a Bachelor of Science degree in Graphic Design, know HTML & CSS, am an intermediate expert in WordPress and I love design!

What do others say about working with me?

“It’s like Annie can look right in your mind and create exactly what you want. She is great to work with! I highly recommend her for any design work you need.” — Anna Shiney

Faith is everything

Faith is everything

As we head into the holiday season, there are a few things I want to talk about, chief among them what I consider the most important aspect of everything we do in life.

And that is . . . faith.

Faith is everything.

But I don’t mean faith as in religion. No, I mean something more like trust, belief, confidence, conviction. Faith in yourself. Faith that the Universe will not let you down. That everything works out perfectly as it should. And that even when we don’t understand why or how or when, the Universe is conspiring on our behalf to fulfill the life we desire.

This kind of faith is what I call a Knowing.

It’s knowing beyond a shadow of a doubt. It’s 100% belief. Absolute confidence. Total conviction. You know it. Fully, completely, no question.

And this is where we mess up, friends.

Because we *think* we have that kind of Knowing but we let the doubt in somewhere along the line. Just before the thing we want comes to fruition. And instead of getting what we were after, we’re let down.

Do we blame the Universe? Our neighbors? Our family?

Unfortunately, yes, we do. But we must realize and understand – it’s NOT their fault. If you want to lay blame, go look in the mirror, dear. Take responsibility. Because that’s where it starts.

It starts within. Nothing is without.

All the answers you need are right inside you.

Know without a doubt that you are a powerful being. Know without a doubt that you can do great things. That the dreams you have can be reality. And that they WILL be reality if you have faith.

Faith is everything.

Until next time . . . keep blazin’

In which writing is difficult

In which writing is difficult

For the past few days, I’ve been writing and rewriting a very important post. It’s one of those times where I know what I want to say but the words seem shallow and dull once they’re on the page. The passion doesn’t shine through.

And sometimes, that’s what we need more than anything – more than the right words, more than the message. It’s the passion that carries us on, that ignites the hearts of those around us. So when the fire just isn’t burning that brightly, it’s easy to get discouraged.

I keep setting the post aside and working on something else for a while, thinking that maybe I’m looking at it from a different angle than I should be. Or that maybe the world isn’t ready to hear it yet. (It’s not THAT important. LOL) Or that maybe I’m not capable of writing with that much passion and purpose.

But I don’t think so. I don’t think it’s any of those things. What I think it is, rather, is that I want it to be more perfect than it is. More powerful than it is. And maybe it’s because *I* believe so much in it, I have higher expectations than necessary.

So, perhaps what might seem mediocre to me will be exactly what lights your fire. ;-)

And that’s my mission in the first place.

In any case, look for that post soon.

Until next time . . . keep blazin’!

Happy birthday!

Happy birthday!

Today is #3′s birthday! She’s 11 this year. Happy birthday sweet girl. Mom loves you! ;-)

We had chocolate cake with chocolate frosting and mint marble fudge ice cream (vegan, of course). And for dinner, it was spaghetti. Always a good birthday dinner choice.

Now, we’re watching Andrea Boccelli’s Christmas special on PBS.

And the birthday girl was very glad there was no snow today.

As always, keep blazin’

Christmas 2011 wallpapers

Christmas 2011 wallpapers

Spent a bit of time over the weekend messing around with Photoshop and created a few wallpapers for Christmas. My screen is 1680 x 1050 so they might be a bit off for your screen but you’re welcome to download them for your PERSONAL use only. ;-)

Until next time . . . keep blazin’

Happy Thanksgiving

Happy Thanksgiving

Sorry I didn’t have a chance to post this earlier today – doing too much cooking and traveling and family gatherings to get much else done. But anyway, for those in the US, I hope you’ve had a wonderful Thanksgiving! Travel safely. Enjoy the long holiday weekend and don’t spend too much on Black Friday! ;-)

I’ll be spending time with more family so no shopping for me this weekend.

Anyway, as always . . . keep blazin’!

Health challenge update – October 28, 2011

Health challenge update – October 28, 2011

The health challenge update I had originally posted on October 28, 2011 . . .

Unfortunately, I don’t have copies of the comments. ;-( Ok, I take that back! Apparently, the database debacle didn’t affect the comments. I just looked at the post, and miracle of miracles, they’re still there! LOL But Yay!

=====================

Yes, I know – I haven’t posted a Health Challenge update for weeks!

But you’ll be happy to know, though, that I am still “on plan” as far as eating goes. ;-) The interesting thing is, I’ve seen more and more people lately doing a 30 day vegetarian/vegan challenge. Several posts in the past weeks on Google+, Facebook and Twitter about people coming onboard with better eating.

Granted, I know many of them will likely only do it for the 30 day period they’re touting but I am sure there will be some people who will end up making it a long term choice. And that’s awesome.

A few weeks ago, I was talking about the movie “Forks Over Knives” and my mom was curious so we watched it via Netflix last weekend. Very interesting documentary. I would really like to have seen it go a bit deeper, though. But highly recommend watching it if you haven’t.

Anyway, as for my update – I have taken to wearing a belt because my pants will fall off if I don’t. LOL And everything is baggy.  I look like I’m wearing someone else’s clothes half the time. But that’s a good thing – I just need to find the time and energy to go shopping for smaller clothes. I’m waiting a bit, though, so I only have to buy smaller clothes once.

Have I ever mentioned how much I hate clothes shopping? Yeah, I’m certainly not your typical girl. I hate shopping. I only go when I absolutely have to and I know exactly what I want so I just go in, get it and get out! LOL I’m not one of those people who wanders around the store looking at everything.

So, there you have it.

Until next time . . . keep blazin’!
