Niche•ing

Welcome back! Coffee's always on around here. Pull up your favorite chair and a grab a cup. Enjoy your visit today! And don't forget to stop back by again soon.

Here’s a quick, short slideshow about what I learned today on Day 2 of The Thirty Day Challenge about Niches.

[slideshare id=86497&doc=day-2-niche685&w=425]

Here’s a very distilled version -
A niche should be:

1. Something you’re passionate about
2. An area in which you’re knowledgeable
3. Subject with a broad customer base (not huge, though)
4. A place where there is a problem to solve
5. Linear

Recently, I heard Pat O’Bryan’s Unseminar series (I’m part of his Portable Empire University) and the above are what Pat recommends. He also recommends hanging out in forums and says that keeping your eyes and ears open in forums and on networks for those problems people are asking for help with is a good way to find niches.

The biggest thing I took away from the sessions -

“Every problem is a product.”
