I enjoy cooking – for the most part. Well, no, I love to *cook*. The part I don’t like? My kitchen sucks. It’s old, out of date, not near enough counter space and the poor oven has been better days. We keep thinking we’ll go ahead and get new appliances . . . but then something else happens. Like, the kids need new clothes. Or the plumbing goes berserk. You know, “fun stuff.”

So I have a kitchen I really dislike but I like to cook so when I can clear enough counter space to make it happen, I like to bake bread, cookies, muffins, and other good stuff. We’ve had some really great meals lately – crockpot chicken that the kids loved!, a noodle casserole they all gobbled up and apple muffins among other things. I still have some recipes to try and I’ll try to post the crockpot chicken recipe and the others either here or over at The Weight Loss Papers sometime this weekend.

Right now, there is 10 grain bread (the recipe is at The Weight Loss Papers) rising in the pan on the counter. About 10 more minutes until it goes in the oven. There is also a basic sandwich bread in the bread machine. It’s got about two hours until it’s ready to put in the pans to rise before cooking in the oven.

I know – it’s summer. What am I doing using the oven?? Well, I live in Seattle (that alone should explain it) and it’s only 70 today. Just right for baking bread.

Maybe if I can find the SD card for the camera, I’ll take some pictures when everything is baked and post them.

I apologize. I’ve once again been so busy, it’s been hard to get over here and write any new posts. But the good news is that I have a lot of ideas for new posts so stay tuned – something will be up soon.

Well, I’ve done it now.

See, I received my graphic design degree way back in the day of traditional paste up and layout on a light table. And even though I’ve learned a LOT of computer based stuff since then, I know there are some skills in which I’m lacking – some more than others even.

So, I recently decided to enroll full time in college. Crazy, huh?

Yep! And now I’ll be spending the next 3 1/2 years attending online classes for a bona fide Bachelor of Science Degree in Graphic Design. (I currently have an AA – Associate of Arts, though sometimes I’ve seen it written AAS – Associate of Arts & Sciences. I don’t think there’s really any difference. But back when I got mine, it simply was called an AA. Whatever. )

Anyway, classes start next monday. As if I didn’t already have enough to do, right? Should be fun! I’m really looking forward to it. Plus, it means I get new books! And software! Oh – and maybe a new iMac!!

But, I’ll be back tomorrow with new stuff for you all here. I’m finally over my cold/sinus infection/flu whatever it was I had last week. I still have a bit of stuffiness in my nose, but otherwise, I’m good. Thanks to everyone who sent me well wishes. I really appreciate them.

Product Creation, part 3 is coming tomorrow!

Just wanted to let you know that tomorrow I will be posting the next piece in the Product Creation series. Also look for some slideshows and/or videos for all 3 modules soon. I want to give you the best chance possible to help you on the road to creating your own products.
