Making some adjustments

Making some adjustments

Although I was originally going to go for the gusto with the Graphics for Bloggers series, I’ve decided to scale back my time frame some.

Yesterday I thought maybe I’d do every other day or every few days but as I was updating some behind the scenes things this morning on this blog, I decided perhaps the series would do best on a once per week schedule. There is A LOT of stuff to cover and while I’m sure you all could handle a fast-paced schedule, truth be told – I can’t. ;-) There are too many other things needing my attention each day to go with a daily schedule for this series.

The first part of the series, which I posted Saturday, took me several hours over both Thursday and Friday to write. In fact, that’s why there are no pictures in the post. I suppose I could have held off on posting it until I had a chance to add pictures but you know what? I was kinda getting tired of looking at the post! I mean, I’d spent the better part of 2 days writing it and frankly, that’s a long time. I generally only spend about an hour – tops – on a post.

I know there are bloggers out there who spend hours upon hours writing every single post they write. That’s great. For them. I’m not that kind of writer. I write what I need to write and that’s that. Kinda like shopping – I go in the store, get what I need and get out! LOL I am definitely not your typical woman shopper who can spend hours in a single section of a store. Or even hours in a single store, period.

So, having said that, I’m making some adjustments with the posting schedule for the Graphics for Bloggers series.

And while I’m at it – I must say, I’m making some adjustments to other things I’ve written here lately. For example, you might remember my post on being an early riser. Well, while I’m happy to report I’ve been doing better with it, I’m equally sad to say that being an early riser just isn’t for me. It’s one of those things that sounds good on paper (or virtual paper, I guess) but when it comes to reality, not so much. Unfortunately, I still have to get up earlier than I’d really like. And I am. I’m awake about 5, although I haven’t been getting out of bed until just after 6.

I like to just be there in my nice warm blankets and think about the day ahead. Kinda get an idea of what needs to be accomplished, set some intentions for the day, maybe a read a little. I like to have the radio on sometimes too.

Anyway, life is full adjustments and that’s part of planning. Sometimes you have to adjust things along the way to keep headed in the right direction. Sometimes you have to adjust things along the way because you find it’s not working. Whatever it is, don’t wait. I know, it can be a scary thing. But waiting to make adjustments just makes them harder. The longer you put off what you know is true, the harder it is to correct. Making small adjustments every so often is much more practical, less time-consuming and believe it or not, less frightening.

So, in the words of Nike, “Just Do It!” ;-)

Until next time . . . keep blazin’!
