Around the Web – August 2011 What’s rocked my boat this week

Around the Web – August 2011 What’s rocked my boat this week

One of the things I truly love about the web is reading everything. I am a voracious reader, often reading 3-4 books a week plus several blogs and other things that engage me. And this week is no different. In fact, this week, I’ve found a TON of awesome stuff to devour and think about.

So far, my favorites this week are -

  • Justine Musk who writes at Tribal Writer. I found Justine’s blog recently and have read most of the recent posts. Now, I’ll forewarn you – her posts are often long and while I don’t usually read long posts, hers are totally engaging from beginning to end. The post I have enjoyed the most is the art of rocking out your identity crisis so you can go on to rule the world.
  • Jonathan Mead at Illuminated Mind. I’ve been a subscriber to Jonathan’s blog for quite some time but the one that really smacked me upside the head this time was his post on When you need to stop listening.
  • Lachlan Cotter from The Art of Audacity. Lach’s blog is another one I’ve just recently come across and I’ve only scratched the surface of his blog but his post on Fear Smashing 101 is a must read for anybody who wants to take their lives and/or businesses to the next level.
  • Ashley Ambirge’s The Middle Finger Project. I can’t just pick one post on Ash’s site. They’re all simply awesome and thought provoking and insightful. If you have any plan whatsoever to live a life beyond the normal boundaries or have a business you can run from anywhere in the world, Ash’s site is THE place begin. Watch out, though, if you’re uncomfortable with profanity because she swears like the best of ‘em. LOL

And that’s all this time because those are going to keep you busy for hours! Literally.

Until next time . . . keep blazin’!

I have some really awesome, kick-ass links for you this week! These will make you think. ;-)

And that should be enough heavy reading for the week.

All 5 of these blogs are simply fantastic! I have spent the last week or so (and longer on a few of them) reading pretty much every single post and comment. They are fabulous and will really get you thinking about your life and it’s direction.

By the way – they are NOT for the faint of heart – if you want your life to continue on as it is, you may not want to read them But if you embrace change and seriously want something more, or are already on a path to enriching your life, these blogs will be great assets for you. Either way . . .

Enjoy!

See you soon, friends!

I’ll be getting back into posting regularly soon as I mentioned in my sticky post above (Summer’s Welcome) but I wanted to give a shout out to a few great posts from Around the Web. These are in no particular order and some of them are a few weeks old but absolutely still relevant.

There were more, but I can’t seem to find them now so if I find what the heck I did with them, I’ll update this post. ;-)

Hope you find something here you haven’t read yet.

Have you read something recently that you really enjoyed? Please share in the comments!

Be blessed,

{Ok, I didn’t post this last week or the previous due to the passing of my neighbor, so I apologize if you’ve seen these already.}

Some stuff I’ve enjoyed the past few weeks . . . .

iPad Reviews UK – How Wired Magazine Will Look on the iPad

The Gratitude Log – “The Happiest Place on the Internet” -The Gratitude Log is a website where you post things your grateful for. It’s a wonderful concept and I really like. This is my Gratitude Log page. Feel free to check it out and join if you like it.

Noupe – 40 Outstanding Photo Manipulation Tutorials. Some of these are pretty interesting – manipulations include blending a planet into a photo, how to create glass transparency, alien invasion, steampunk style illustration and many others.

Inhabitat – Texas Breaks US Wind Power Generation Record – this is pretty cool. And Texas is the leading state in wind power generation. Last year, they produced enough energy using wind turbines to offset electricity use in the state by 6.2% overall. But Friday, they set a record – 19% of the energy mix!

Blog Mommas – Take a break, share your blog, have some fun! Not just a blog directory for blogging mommas but also for dad bloggers. Check it out and add your blog too.

And I think that’ll do it for now. I hope you have a great week!

Be blessed,
